About Sustaining Care
Sustaining Care provides private, attentive, affordable massage and bodywork to lower income frontline community service workers and social change activists.
When you work in the streets, shelters, foster care, rehab, prisons, clinics – the list goes on – you hear and witness the hardest stories of people’s lives.
If you spend your hours trying to heal the damage of poverty, violence, isolation, and oppression, you care. You care deeply. It’s hard not to carry the stories of others with you, in your bodies as well as in your minds and hearts.
Sustaining Care is a network of bodyworkers, massage therapists, and other holistic providers who highly value the work that you do. We have realized that we can best support that work by supporting you.
If you are interested in receiving services through this program, please contact us and tell us a bit about yourself and about what your organization does. This service will be offered to organizations on a staff-wise basis.
If you are a therapist interested in participating, please contact us and tell us a bit about your work. As a participating therapist, you can offer a few sessions per month at your office, as scheduling allows. Your contact information and a link to your website will be posted, and peer supervision/support meetings will be scheduled according to interest.
